Your learners are likely not where you think they are...

...so the way you deliver your digital learning needs to change!

Recent insights from LinkedIn highlight that 80% of workers operate away from traditional desks, which contradicts the norm of creating conventional desktop courses that may not effectively engage them due to a frustrating experience. These frustrations can be due to the content being too small to read and having to pinch the screen all the time or even the fact that they are having to use a lot of phone data to gain an answer to a question they have from a long course.

This emphasises the critical role of responsive authoring tools like Articulate Rise and isEazy in optimizing the mobile UX. Such tools enable us to tailor learning experiences to suit the context in which learning is consumed, ensuring that our content remains easy to access and view and keeps the learner engaged regardless of the device on which it is consumed.

Moreover, microlearning plays a pivotal role in this strategy. By designing bite-sized learning modules that align with the pace and demands of modern work life, we can deliver targeted information precisely when and where it's needed. This approach not only enhances learning retention but also fits seamlessly into the flow of our employees' daily tasks wherever they are.

Furthermore, our learning platforms must be streamlined to facilitate easy content discovery. Ensuring that resources are organized intuitively and searchable enhances the user experience, making it effortless for learners to access the information they require. We need to make this possible, whether through traditional learning platforms like an LMS or LXP or even broadening this to tools that our people live on, such as hashtag#Slack and MS Teams, to make access to learning resources as seamless as possible.

So, next time you create your content, take into account that not everyone is sitting at a desk, and design for where they really are, as well as how they will be consuming your learning resource.
